Project: Health and safety audit and introduction of safe working practices in a local engineering company
Client: Engineering firm
The company recognised the need to update existing health and safety procedures and to introduce a formalised system. This was to enable them to identify hazards present in their workplace that had the potential to cause harm and take measures to minimise them.
Existing health and safety documentation was incorporated into the new system and included:
• Company health and safety policy
• Company transport policy
• Environmental policy
• Risk assessments
• Manual handling assessments
• Display screen equipment assessments
• COSHH assessments
• Advice on accident prevention
• Advice on fire and first aid requirements.
Five days over a period of two months, with half-day monitoring visits every six months.
On completion the engineering company complied with current health and safety legislation and employees made aware of their responsibilities with regards to health and safety. The company is also in a position to continue any further assessments themselves.
